Role: Occupational Therapist/ Director

Credentials: Masters in Occupational Therapy, Bachelor in Exercise and Sports Science, OTA Endorsed Mental Health Occupational Therapist

Director and founder of OT Inspire Australia, Mia is originally from the coastal town of Fremantle, Western Australia and loves nothing more than a surf at home.

Mia weaves a variety of therapeutic models into her training including Mindfulness, Self Compassion Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed Practices, the Alert Program, Sleep Hygiene. Mia is also an accredited Yoga Instructor and Meditation Teacher.

Mia is also currently completing studies in Neuroprotective Developmental Care to be able to support parents and infants during the first 12 months of life.

Mia saw a need for a holistic and calm approach to therapy when working in mental health and disability in both WA and the NT. Mia is passionate about creating a sanctuary for clients, where they feel safe, supported and empowered on their own therapeutic journey. 

Mia is a creative mental health occupational therapist, who builds strong therapeutic relationships and delivers therapeutic services with each client at the centre of their plan. Mia understands that you are the expert in your life and simply facilitates you to grow to reach your goals. Mia often tells clients that she thinks she has the best job in the world, and this shows in her dedication to her practice.

Mia’s favourite self-care activities are running, painting and yoga.

Mia

Marlee

Role: Assistant Office Manager / Therapy Assistant

In her role as Assistant Office Manager, Marlee creates an efficient and productive office environment that supports the OT Inspire team to operate at it’s best.

Marlee is also currently completing her studies in Occupational Therapy and works in the OT Inspire office as a valued Therapy Assistant. Marlee is passionate about assisting her clients to achieve person-centred goals in a creative, enthusiastic and reflective manner.

Marlee brings a wealth of experience, after spending 9 years locally on country in the Northern Territory. Marlee is dedicated to facilitating smooth and efficient daily operations for clinic running, remote outreach trips and growth of sustainable services in the NT, with the wellbeing of clients at the centre of her values.

Beyond her work in the therapy space, Marlee spends time with her two wonderful kids and enjoys painting, pilates and outdoor activities. As a mother herself, Marlee is passionate and dedicated to helping individuals and families to improve their independence, confidence and overall wellbeing to thrive together.

James

Role: Therapy Assistant

James is one of our wonderful OT Inspire Australia Therapy Assistants.

James has lived in Mparntwe/Alice Springs for three years and now calls Mparntwe/Alice Springs home. James is a patient and kind therapy assistant with a great sense of humour. 

James  is an active member of the community and volunteers his time at many organisations around town. James has some incredible woodwork and gardening skills and has created some amazing projects with members of our OT Inspire Community (and you can often find him helping our staff with various projects as well!).

 In his spare time James enjoys building outdoor sheds, BBQ’s, veggie garden beds and much much more! James also enjoys spending his Sundays cooking up a storm at home for his family and makes a great Sunday roast.

James is available to work with young people and adults as a Therapy Assistant at OT Inspire.

Rachel

Role: Therapy Assistant

Rachel is currently studying her Masters of Occupational Therapy at CDU and we are lucky enough to have her as one of our incredible Therapy Assistants at the OT Inspire Alice Springs office.

Rachel is a passionate, enthusiastic and creative person who takes pride in all her work. Rachel describes herself as an extroverted introvert that can be reserved and quiet, yet ready and willing to lead, advocate and dance party to loosen up when needed.

Rachel has lived in Alice Springs for 7 years now and is proud to call the territory home. Rachel notes that she has grown a love for this little town and the people who make it a close knit community. Rachel truly loves learning and growing towards a career as an occupational therapist.

Rachel is available to work with young people and adults at OT Inspire.

Katie

Role: Admin Support

Katie is our wonderful, warm administration support.  Katie is based remotely and is who you will you receive communications from regarding your initial referral and ongoing support throughout your OT Inspire journey. Katie is a caring, kind soul who ensures that your experience at OT Inspire is thoughtful and efficient.

Katies favourite self care activities are exercising (walking along the coast or Cyclebar) and treating herself to a massage!
